Martin has practiced law in Drayton Valley for 32 years and is currently conducting a restricted practice in the areas of estate planning and administration and corporate law. Since opening his first law office in Drayton Valley, Martin has assisted clients in most areas of public practice and is very familiar with the local community and its various members and stake holders.
Martin has been continually involved in local activities, projects and organizations. He helped establish the Beehive Support Services for developmentally disabled adults, the Community Foundation, the Chamber of Commerce and its annual trade show, the Community Scholarship Trust Society, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, the local small theatre company, slow pitch softball league, and Rotary Club. Many other local activities and groups have benefitted from Martin’s involvement or advice. He is currently President of the Eleanor Pickup Centre for Performing Arts and a Director and League Governor of the Drayton Valley Thunder of the Alberta Junior Hockey League.
Martin was made Queen’s Council in 2004 and was presented with the Drayton Valley Ambassador Award in 2000 and Alberta Centennial Medal in 2005.
